1. The registry office that issued the certificate. You can contact the registry office by telephone or in person. A replacement certificate normally costs about £10. Delivery times will vary depending on the office.
2. Most births, deaths and marriages should now be recorded by the General Registrars Office. This is one central office where records are now held electronically. You can purchase a replacement certificate online for about £10. They also operate a 2 day processing service for approximately £25-30.
