Apostilles for Wills, Probates and Death Certificates

Following the death of a person with overseas assets there may be a requirement for documents relating to the deceased to be legalised by apostille and presented overseas.

The estate of an individual may include property or other assets that are based overseas. If so the relevant jurisdiction may require the last will and testament, court issued grant of probate and death certificate to be issued with an apostille certificate. This is often requested by overseas authorities before the release of assets is granted. There may be other documents that need to be provided but it is typical for only two or three of the aforementioned documents to be requested.

An apostille certificate can be added to an original death certificate, grant of probate (grant of confirmation in Scotland), grant of letters of administration document and a copy or original last will and testament. To order your apostille simply go to our order page and follow the instructions.
